Camping at the Presidio (K-12)

A Message from the CAP Program:

The well-being and health of our community at Rob Hill Campground and the Camping at the Presidio (CAP) program is our top priority. All CAP-related programming (leadership trainings, overnight camping trips, and day use reservations) are cancelled until further notice. If you currently had a trip scheduled, we will be in contact with you. We will not be rescheduling any programs for this season which runs until October 31, 2020.

If you have a CAP question or concern please email Ernesto Pepito at ernesto@parksconservancy.org. Ernesto is the Crissy Field Center's Associate Director and oversees & supports the CAP Program.

Imagine spending the night in a national park with your students. Rob Hill Campground – nestled in a eucalyptus grove in the Presidio – is one of the park’s hidden gems. The only camping facility in San Francisco, Rob Hill is a fantastic venue for outdoor learning and fun, bringing the experience of a national park to students within a safe setting without leaving the city. All camping equipment (including tents, sleeping bags, pads, and cooking gear) is provided.

The CAP program serves several thousand students annually, providing meaningful gateway camping experiences to youth who traditionally have not visited national parks. Teachers who are interested in participating must first apply and meet eligibility requirements. Participation in an overnight CAP leadership training is required before a teacher can schedule a camping trip for their class.
