San Francisco, CA (January 18, 2022) – The Presidio Trust is pleased to announce signed leases for two exceptional restaurants in the Presidio with the Presmex Group, founded by Eduardo Rallo who also leads the Resmex Group, operators of El Jardin, Zazil, and Chika on San Jose’s Santana Row. One will occupy the Presidio Officers’ Club, San Francisco’s most historic building, the other reimagines food service at the Presidio Transit Center (Building 215) at the new Presidio Tunnel Tops site. Several additional foodservice leasing opportunities remain in the park.

“We are looking forward to having Mr. Rallo and Presmex join the Presidio community, serving up a variety of delicious meals, snacks, and beverages to complement a great day in this national park site,” said Daryl Ansel, director of hospitality at the Presidio Trust. “The number one wish we’ve heard from our visitors is that they would like to see more restaurants in the park, and we know people will be thrilled to have two new options. This marks a turning point for the agency’s food strategy. The Trust is no longer an owner of restaurants but is actively pursuing leases with world-class operators like Eduardo Rallo. With 10 million visits per year, the Presidio offers a great opportunity for food operators.”

“My wife and I have been San Francisco residents for the last 25 years, and the Presidio has been an important part of our daily lives,” says Mr. Rallo. “For us to have the chance to run restaurants here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m so excited to contribute to the city and the park that I love so much.”

The Trust still seeks a foodservice operator for its largest restaurant space at the Presidio Tunnel Tops, in the newly remodeled Building 201. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the high visibility opening year at the Presidio Tunnel Tops, welcoming a million visits in the first year. The one-of-a-kind building has 6,000 SF of space perfectly situated to offer a multi-faceted food service experience—both dining in and grab-and-go. It’s positioned to face out directly onto a picnic area near the Presidio Plaza, with tables, benches, and unparalleled views of the Golden Gate Bridge right outside its door. Also available: prominently located on the Main Post, the fully built out restaurant space within 101 Montgomery Street, with 4,626 SF of indoor dining and 696 SF of outdoor porch overlooking the seven-acre Main Parade Lawn. The space features a private dining room, a lovely bar, and a beautiful open kitchen.

About the Presidio and the Presidio Trust

The Presidio is one of America’s most unique and visited national park sites, spanning nearly 1,500 acres in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area at San Francisco’s northern waterfront. In partnership with the National Park Service and the non-profit Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the Presidio Trust brings alive the park’s historic, natural, and recreational assets for the inspiration, education, health, and enjoyment of all people. Nestled by the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio is defined by its history, spectacular views, natural habitats, and beautiful opens spaces. Its historic buildings house 3,000 residents and 200 tenant businesses, including the Trust’s hospitality services. Visitor amenities such as golf, restaurants, recreation, retail, and museums generate income for the park, which does not receive a direct annual federal appropriation.
