Senior Accountant

The Presidio Trust is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist with the day to day operations of the Accounting Department including but not limited to leading complex accounting activities.  Compiles, maintains, and analyzes necessary financial records and contributes to the overall financial health of the Presidio Trust.

  • Contributes to the day to day operations of the accounting department and leads complex accounting activities such as: revenue classification, fixed asset capitalization, general ledger analysis, and project costing and billing.  

  • Leads financial report preparation and analysis, ad hoc reporting, investment management and control of cash, financial report analysis, subledger reconciliations in coordination with business partners, general ledger reconciliations and journal entries, and providing excellent customer service.  

  • Develop accounting documentation and guidance and provide expert professional advisory services in the areas of accounting policy.  Improve procedures ensuring internal controls are in place for new and existing financial systems, and provide training or documentation for improvements.  Assist with processes for emerging, prevailing or new accounting pronouncements.

  • Facilitate internal (internal controls) and external (financial) audits, including communicating and explaining accounting processes to auditors, preparing audit schedules, and executing any required audit remediation activities required to mitigate or remediate audit findings.  

  • Respond to management requests for information, provide briefings and clearly communicate findings orally or in writing.  

  • Perform work with strict adherence to monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines.

  • Displays excellent customer service with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, other agencies, etc. 

  • Other duties as assigned.​

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from (4) four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business, with at least 24 semester hours in accounting and related fields; OR

  • CPA/CIA license; AND

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in financial accounting.

  • Possess excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, extensive experience with the Oracle e-Business suite of financial modules, in-depth knowledge of financial processes, procedures, and requirements.

  • Demonstrated skill in using accounting and financial records and identifying errors, as well as correction procedures.

  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing, interpreting, and applying complex legislation, policy, and other decisions or directives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of federal budgetary accounting.

  • Familiarity with Treasury reporting systems for monitoring Trust business activities and generating reports that meet with external requirements.

The Presidio Trust has identified this position as subject to an employment background investigation, which shall consist of a review of applicable county, state, and Federal criminal and civil records, state bankruptcy indexes and a credit report. An individual's granting of an investigation and resulting report is voluntary. However, employment in this sensitive position is contingent upon the successful completion of an investigation.
