Anyone of any religion, or anyone with no religion at all, is welcome at the Interfaith Center at the Presidio (ICP). Created in 1995, ICP is a regionally-focused organization that celebrates the diverse wisdom and faith traditions of the Bay Area. It's also a safe haven for dialogue, prayer, and the building of friendships.

Events and Open House/Docent Tour

The Interfaith Center is located in the Presidio Chapel, situated on the edge of the park's Main Post above the Golden Gate Club and adjacent to the San Francisco National Cemetery. Built in the 1930s by the U.S. Army as an interdenominational chapel, today it’ is a sacred space for all faiths. Events here are open to the public, including film screenings, musical performances, interfaith services, panels, presentations, and seminars.

On select Sundays of every month from Noon to 2 pm the chapel is open for visitors to pray, meditate, look around on their own, or participate in a guided tour. Go to Presidio events page >>

Aside from its events at the Presidio, the Interfaith Center is active throughout the Bay Area and beyond. With the mission of fostering collaboration and discussion between members of all religious and spiritual communities while ministering to our veterans and their families, the center regularly participates in interreligious seminars and festivals that focus on international peace building, sustainability, and social justice, such as Peace in the Park in Golden Gate Park, North American Interfaith Network's annual conferences, Memorial and Veterans Days, and the Parliament of the World's Religions.

The Presidio GO Shuttle stops nearby. If you're coming by car, there's paid parking nearby.
