We’re excited to announce that in January 2020 the Presidio became the first park in the United States to receive the Green Flag Award, the recognized standard for well-managed green spaces around the world (read the Press Release here).

The Presidio earned this award following a visit by professional peer judges who said of the park, “In a relatively short space of time the Presidio of San Francisco has been transformed from a former military outpost into one of the most welcoming and well-facilitated public resources the judges have ever visited.”

The Presidio joins over 2,000 parks and green spaces in 15 countries who have received the award, including Australia, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. We were delighted to score at the highest level in all of the below eight categories they consider.
