Update on Presidio Picnic + Presidio Twilight
Joint Statement from the Presidio Trust + Off the Grid
Over the past eight years, the Presidio Trust and Off the Grid have enjoyed a wonderful collaboration in the production of Presidio Picnic and – in more recent years – Presidio Twilight. During eight 32-week seasons, Presidio Picnic helped thousands of people discover the Presidio as a public destination and drew up to 8,000 visitors to the park on a typical summer Sunday. They also provided the opportunity to introduce hundreds of food creators and entertainers to delighted visitors on the Presidio’s historic Main Post Lawn, surrounded by the park’s iconic architecture and epic views of San Francisco Bay. These events were forced to sunset with the onset of COVID, the reduction of Trust staff, and now with the new operational needs surrounding the opening of the Presidio Tunnel Tops in July. Off the Grid and the Presidio Trust look forward to discussing future opportunities to collaborate. The Presidio Trust also looks forward to making an announcement soon regarding daily food service to complement the opening of Presidio Tunnel Tops – including a soon-to-open café at Presidio Transit Center. Off the Grid events remains open throughout the Bay Area, including every Friday at the Presidio’s sister national park site at Fort Mason Center.
