UPDATE: Holiday Lights: The Presidio’s Traditional Tree-Lighting

Friday, Dec 02, 07:00 PM - 07:05 PM At Presidio Community YMCA Offered by:

 Presidio Trust

**While there is no formal Holiday Tree lighting ceremony this year, come by and see the Presidio's historic tree lit throughout the month of December.**

History:

Since 1991, the now 55-foot-tall Norfolk Island pine in the Presidio has glowed with lights starting on the first Friday evening in December. The tradition of tree lighting at the former US Army base began even earlier, in 1957, when families who lived and worked in the Presidio came by to light the tree and kick off the holiday season. Holiday Lights continued when the Presidio opened its gates to all as a national park in 1994.

Looking to do some holiday shopping and support the park? Drop by the Presidio Visitor Center and fill your holiday stocking with special discounts on retail, open 10 am to 5 pm daily.
