Presidio Coronavirus Updates
(updated April 12, 2021)
The Presidio has issued an
Emergency Order that restricts activities in the park consistent with the current San Francisco Department of Public Health orders.
The Presidio remains open to all for exercise, including the park's trails, open spaces, and playgrounds. This page describes how to enjoy the Presidio while following safety requirements to protect everyone's well-being. If you have questions, contact us at email@example.com.
Please check the websites of Presidio tenant organizations for information about their operations.
Presidio Like a Pro
Many people are looking to their parks as a place to get outside and experience nature during this stressful time. So it’s more important than ever that we recreate safely and give each other space. Here are ten ways to “Presidio like a Pro.”
If You’re Sick, Stay Home
If you’re ill, rest at home.
Stay Six Feet Apart
Give each other six feet of space and avoid traveling in groups.
Share the Space
Stay aware of others, especially when wearing headphones. Choose less busy trails and visit during off-peak times.
Wear a Face Covering
Wearing a face covering is required when outside in San Francisco and when others not in your household are within six feet.
Use Alternative Forms of Transportation
Some Presidio parking lots are closed, and select roadways are closed or slowed (see Presidio Slow Streets) – check out our park updates before visiting the park, and bike, walk, or take alternative forms of transportation when possible.
Slow your Roll
When biking or running, keep your speed under control and gently make sure others are aware you’re approaching.
Pack Out Trash
Always carry out your trash.
Watch for Signs + Closures
Follow signsage and avoid closed areas.
Protect the Park
Leave the park as you found it, and avoid anything that might cause lasting damage, like placing stakes in the lawns.
Outdoor public gatherings must be single household and limited to 12 people. Outdoor recreation and fitness groups and walking tours may continue with a maximum of 12 people and with strict adherence to existing guidelines.
Presidio Slow Streets
To create more space for everyone to walk, run, and bike while maintaining the required physical distancing, we're hosting
Presidio Slow Streets, a companion to the City's effort.

PresidiGo Shuttle is Operating
The PresidiGo Shuttle is operating for essential transportation, including travel to and from work, shopping for supplies, accessing health care, and providing aid to family and friends who need assistance.
We're following industry-standard protocols for the protection of our passengers and drivers.
While the shuttle is operating on a reduced schedule, we'll add service as ridership increases. Note, however, that the Around the Park Crissy Field Route has been permanently discontinued. Please send any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Ensuring Park Operations
The Presidio Trust is operating to provide for the health, safety and welfare of residents, tenants, and the public, and to ensure essential functions continue.
Accordingly, the park's water, gas, sewer systems, roads, and grounds are safe and functioning, and we're resolving maintenance issues for residents and tenants. United States Park Police, Fire Department, and emergency dispatch are operating.
We're also continuing five public works construction projects: Quartermaster Reach marsh expansion, Presidio Tunnel Tops, Doyle Drive-related projects, Swords to Plowshares Veterans Academy improvements, and Presidio water treatment plant projects. Trust staff and contractors adhere to required safety protocols, including physical distancing, and use protective equipment as needed to protect themselves and others.
