In January 2018, the
San Francisco Chronicle and CBS News Bay Area reported on the Presidio Trust’s effort to explore whether the park’s Fort Winfield Scott can be transformed into a campus for changemakers.
In the
Chronicle article, “Glorious Presidio Fort Scott Seeks Occupant," J.K. Dineen reports that the Trust is seeking one or more mission-driven organizations to transform Fort Winfield Scott into a campus focused on addressing the significant environmental and/or social challenges of our time. The offering encompasses 20 to 22 buildings within the 30-acre campus. “Fort Scott was always envisioned to support a higher purpose,” said project manager Josh Bagley.
