Presidio Nature: Scientific American Reports on “Ecological Detectives Hunt for San Francisco Vanished Waterways”

Over the years, Presidio ecologists have been working to "daylight" historic waterways that the Army put underground in underground culverts when the Presidio was a military post. Special focus has been given to the Presidio's Tennessee Hollow Watershed, which includes three creeks that flow toward Crissy Field Marsh and the San Francisco Bay.

Scientific American recently reported on San Francisco's hidden waterways, highlighting the work Presidio ecologists are doing with the San Francisco Estuary Institute to restore watersheds and biodiversity in the park.
