​The final school bell will ring before you know it, and it's time to start thinking about how you'll fill that gaping hole in your kid's schedule from June to September. To help out, we've rounded up a list of Presidio summer camps that'll keep your kids' bodies and minds engaged. Choose to explore a new interest every week or stick with one passion all summer long.

General Day Camps

Camp Edmo

Julius Kahn playground is the jumping off point for Camp Edmo's STEAM-themed adventures. Kids explore the Presidio's forests, beaches, and wildlife, with a new focus every week: for instance, one week it's backyard biology, the next it's dream machines, and the list goes on.

Ages: K through 4th grade

Presidio Y Camp

The YMCA practically invented summer camp. The Presidio Y carries on the tradition, taking full advantage of its national park setting. Itineraries appeal to all interests, from breakdancing to zoology, as well as all the classic summer sports.

Sports Camps

Presidio Golf Course Junior Golf Camp

Whether your kiddo has dreams of going pro or just loves chasing those little white balls, Presidio Golf Course has the ideal camp for them. PGA instructors build golf skills through fun games and on-course instruction, teaching etiquette along the way. Beginners and intermediate players are welcome.

Batter's Box SF

Pack your slugger a lunch and send them to the cages for personalized instruction in the fundamentals of America's pastime. They'll work on hitting, pitching, stealing bases, and taking ground balls, and enjoy games of Whiffle ball on Crissy Field.

House of Air

Campers will have exclusive access to the trampolines and dodgeball arena, then work with the Training Ground pros to learn flips and tricks. They'll get outside for sports, games, and lunch at Crissy Field. Flight socks and lunch are included. Online registration opens April 18, or call (415) 345-9675 to sign up now.

Indoor Rock Climb & Outdoor Adventures

For those kids that really do want to go climb a rock, Planet Granite Rock Climbing Center in partnership with San Francisco Rec provides campers with three hours of climbing instruction followed by an education outing into the Presidio's beautiful Crissy Field. This is a great way to introduce your child to rock climbing and introduce them to the Presidio's park setting. Drop offs at Planet Granite Climbing Center, 924 Old Mason Street in the Presidio.

La Petite Athlete

La Petite Baleen's summer camp is more than fins and goggles. In addition to daily swim lessons and pool games, this sports-themed camp includes trampoline time, Whiffle ball, volleyball and soccer. Downtime activities include arts and crafts, short hikes, and trips to the beach.

Planet Granite Climbing Camp

For kids who are clamoring for new challenges, the skilled instructors at Planet Granite will help them reach their lofty goals. Campers will tackle bouldering walls, high-roped walls, and more. Harness rental and camp t-shirt are included.

Nature Ca​​mps​

Presidio Trekkers (Crissy Field Center)

Grades: Rising 1st - 3rd 

The Presidio is not only a place of rich natural and cultural history but, also, many hidden mysteries.  Join us as we solve a mystery every day and learn more about this place we call our national park.   Search for clues along the trails and shoreline and interview experts and key witnesses.  This playful and creative inquiry-based camp embraces the curiosity and creativity of young children while helping to foster an intuitive framework for future learning.

Junior Rangers (Crissy Field Center)

(10 days) 
Grades: Rising 4th - 6th 

Are you ready for the challenge? From the infamous cellblocks of Alcatraz to the primeval forest of Muir Woods, there’s an adventure around every corner in the Golden Gate National Parks. Join fellow rangers-in-training as we head out to a different park site every day and learn about the amazing things that go on in our National park. Art, science and recreation are all part of the park challenge! Pack your bag for a night sleeping under the stars (and eating s’mores!) during an overnight camping trip at the Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio. At the closing ceremony, campers will be sworn in as official Junior Rangers!

Caring Creatives

Every day at Art+Nature Summer Camp begins and ends with a circle and a song. In between, young campers hike in the Presidio to climb, play, and create art inspired by nature.

Ages: 3 to 7

Marine Explorers Field Trip Camp

A collaborative team from the Randall Museum and the Gulf of the Farrallones brings together this hands-on adventure along the coast. Kids will spend a week learning about local marine life – crabs, plankton, sharks, anemones, barnacles, seals, whales, and sea stars – and explore the rocky shores, sandy beaches, and estuaries in the area. They'll travel by van between locations, and even have the chance to kayak! Meet ups and drop offs are at the Visitor's Center of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary near the Warming Hut at Crissy Field.

Nature Nurture

On daily child-paced nature walks through the Presidio, campers learn to be kind to nature and each other through games, stories, and teamwork. Each camp also invites one junior camp leader-in-training, and has a 6:2 child-teacher ratio.

Parks Plus Creation  

This play-based, Reggio-inspired, 100% outdoor experience inspires curiosity and adventure every day. Tools for digging, magnifying, drawing, and sculpting are provided to help kids explore nature in the Presidio. Morning, midday, and full-day options are available.​

Arts Camps

Presidio Dance Theatre

If your kid's "gotta dance," a summer at the Presidio Performing Arts Center might be just the ticket. They'll explore dance, music, acting, fencing, and pantomime with the Presidio Dance Theatre's pros. Every week ends in a performance for family and friends.

Walt Disney Family Museum Animation Camp

Budding young animators hone their skills at the museum that honors the industry's pioneer. Camps explore traditional drawing, painting, and sculpting alongside animation techniques. At the end of the session, kids offer a screening for family and friends, and a take-home portfolio.​
