Presidio Kids: 2016 Fall Family Fun Guide

Monday, Sep 12, 2016 Category Kids and Family; Nature and Science

As the days get shorter, fall is the perfect time of year for kids to explore creative adventures in the Presidio – both indoors and out.

From an art walk to seeing all of Andy Goldsworthy's playful and inspired Presidio installations, to a visit to the Walt Disney Family Museum's Wish Upon a Star: The Art of Pinocchio exhibition, to our weekly Creative Family Fun craft-making activies, there's so much to see and do in the Presidio.

To help you get started, we've put together a fall family fun guide - San Francisco Creates Here - with itineraries for kid-friendly adventures in the Presidio. And it's available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. So let's get started!

Highlight for October 2016 - Dia de los Muertos Mask Making

Families can honor friends and relatives who've passed on by making Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) masks at the weekly Creative Family Fun event. Bring the kids to the Presidio Officers' Club on Saturday, October 29 or Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 11 am to 4 pm. You'll also learn about the Presidio's historical ties to Mexico, and more about El Presidio, the original fort that was settled as a military outpost by the Spanish in 1776. Free; no registration required.
