Special February Volunteer Days
Volunteers help plant vegetation near El Polin Spring.
As we kick off February volunteer events, we want to thank everyone who helped make our MLK, Jr. volunteer day a rousing success! A total of 129 volunteers helped clean up Rob Hill Campground and do some weeding around Sunset Scrub, Fort Scott and the Fort Scott Community Garden. Click here for photos of the event or click here for a rundown of the weekend's activities.
Here are some special volunteer events coming up in February:
Volunteer Day at the Salvage Warehouse
February 14, 10 am to 12:30 pm
Help organize the Salvage Warehouse historic items collection and assist with general cleanup activities. Ages 8 and up. Registration is required. Email to sign-up.
Plantapalooza in the Presidio
February 23, 9 am to 12 pm
Join us in the Presidio's Tennessee Hollow Watershed for a BIG day of stewardship with our friends at REI. Volunteers are needed to help plant and water native plants, remove invasive species, take care of trees, and improve landscaping in and around El Polin Spring. A long-term effort is underway to revitalize the Tennessee Hollow Watershed. Come learn about its extraordinary natural and human history while being a part of this ambitious long-term restoration effort. All ages welcome. Registration is required. To sign-up, click here.
