Presidio Garden Stewards

Join the Presidio Trust and the National Park Service to enhance Presidio’s rare native plant habitat and create wildlife corridors throughout the park. Learn about dune and serpentine systems while working in scrub, grassland, woodland, wetland, and bluff habitats. Activities include invasive plant removal during the summer dry season and native revegetation during the winter rainy season.

How To Participate
Individuals and families or groups of 4 people or fewer are welcome to attend without pre-registration. Simply show up at the appropriate meeting location for sign in and asked to complete a waiver form (first visit only). Volunteers under 18 years must bring a waiver form signed by their parent/guardian. See below for details.
Groups of five people or more may require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Visit Group Service Projects for details.
Age Requirements
Volunteers ages 10 and up are welcome at all workdays. One Saturday a month a “Family Friendly” day will be held when volunteers under age 10 can also participate from 9 to 10:30 am. If bringing youth age 15 and under to any of the workdays, please read the Youth and Family Guidelines.
What to Wear
Be prepared! Wear clothes that can get dirty, layers for changing weather, and rain gear if necessary. Long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes are required (no shorts or sandals). Bring a hat and/or sunglasses and wear sunscreen.
What to Bring
Bring the appropriate waiver forms (see below). Bring a reusable water bottle. Water stations will be available for refills. All necessary tools, supplies, and gloves will be provided.
Skill Requirements
No experience is necessary. Training will be provided.

This program is rain or shine. If it is raining, please bring rain gear.
Community Service Hours
This program fulfills community service requirements.
Waiver Forms (Please bring the completed forms to the project).
Youth/Adult: Complete the Volunteer Services Agreement​. Volunteers under age 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.
