Grow the Presidio Forest
Friday, November 14: Washington Reforestation Site
In 1883, Major W.A. Jones proposed his Plan for the Cultivation of Trees Upon the Presidio Reservation, a massive tree planting program that prompted William Alvord (a former Mayor of San Francisco and future President of the American Forestry Association) to write, "Your report upon the improvement of the Presidio Reservation, by the cultivation of trees, is interesting and instructive, and every officer stationed there and every citizen of this City, should do all they can to carry out your excellent suggestion." Please join us in November as we continue to carry out our duty to grow and nurture this incredible asset that is the Presidio forest.

Garden Stewards
Friday, November 21: MacArthur Neighborhood Gardens
The premier landscaping aesthetics of the Presidio are achieved thanks to the hardworking crews of the Trust's Landscape department. Volunteers get the cool opportunity to team up with longtime gardeners Sam Clinton and Susan Abu-Shumays in November as they take us inside the operations of landscaping in the beautiful MacArthur Neighborhood. Don't take the Presidio's good looks for granted! Come on out and learn a bit more about how we get it done. Team will meet at the Inspiration Point Overlook and take a short drive to the work site.
