Forest and Tree Care
A photo of an older woman crouched down in the dirt planting a tree.
All around the park the Presidio’s aging Monterey cypress and pine forest groves are being rejuvenated with young trees. Volunteers help with weeding and mulching. Volunteers participating in the drop-in program may also support tree planting, which typically occurs in late fall/early winter.

Drop-In Program
Individuals and small groups can participate in Presidio Forest Stewards, a drop-in program that takes place every first and second Friday of the month from 9 am to Noon.

Group Service Projects
To schedule a group volunteer forest stewardship project, contact the Presidio Trust Volunteer Coordinator at (415) 561-5333 or volunteer@presidio.gov.
