Help the Presidio Trust with its unique waste diversion program. Learn about the composting process while composting green waste at the Compost Yard and help organize salvaged materials at the Salvage Warehouse.

Ever want to see what most of the red roof in the Presidio are made of? Join Presidio Trust Salvage and Roofing staff to organize the historic terra cotta roof tile collection! Sort and palletize tiles; and assist with general cleanup activities. Registration is required. To sign-up, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How To Participate
Sign-up by sending an email to email@example.com. Individuals and families or groups of 4 people or fewer are welcome to attend. Volunteers must complete a waiver form (first visit only) to participate. Volunteers under 18 years must bring a parental approval form signed by their parent/guardian. See below for details.
Groups of five people or more may require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Visit Group Service Projects for details.
Compost Volunteer Days: Ages 6 and up
Salvage Volunteer Days: Ages 10 and up

What to Wear
Be prepared! Please wear clothes that can get dirty, layers for changing weather, and rain gear if necessary. Long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes are required (no shorts or sandals). Bring a hat and/or sunglasses and wear sunscreen.
What to Bring
Bring the appropriate waiver forms (see below). Bring a reusable water bottle. Water stations will be available for refills. All necessary tools, supplies, and gloves will be provided.
No experience is necessary. Training will be provided.
This program is rain or shine. If it is raining, please bring rain gear.
