Accounting Technician

Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, compiles and maintains accounting records and files. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties: Accounts Payable - processes invoices for payment including reviewing receiving records, preparing invoice credit memos, responding vendor inquiries, resolving disputes, and preparing payment files; Accounts Receivable – processes invoices for collections (bills), including reviewing documentation to ensure for invoicing is appropriate, preparing credit and debit memos resolving customer disputes, assisting in collections, and preparing customer files; prepares transaction spreadsheets and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounting sub-ledgers to document business transactions; must understand accounting coding processes for invoices and projects; must have the ability to work in various subledgers to include Event Pro, Oracle Accounts Payable, and Oracle Accounts Receivable. Full time regular position with benefits. Minimum pay rate: $39,000 per annum.

Requires associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; and ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations; respond to common inquiries or complaints from vendors and customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; present information to management; calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
