Prejudice and Patriotism: The Story of Japanese Americans of the Military Intelligence Service, 1941 – 1952 runs through January 31, 2010 at the Presidio Officers’ Club. Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Army recruited Japanese American soldiers for a secret military intelligence training at the Presidio. While their families were incarcerated in detention camps, these soldiers served their country with honor. This exhibit explores their stories through portraits from Tom Grave’s photo-exhibit After the Wars: Lessons from America’s Nisei Heroes. There are many related events including movie nights, lectures, walking tours, and more.
