Sections of Park Trail and Bay Area Ridge Trail Closed to Dog Walking

To reduce the potential for coyote/dog conflict, we’ve proactively closed large sections of the Park Trail and the Bay Area Ridge Trail to dog walking. This annual closure is temporary; we’ll reopen these trails to dog walking in fall after pupping season ends. All 24 miles of hiking trails in the Presidio are open to people.

San Francisco, CA (April 25, 2016) — Off the Grid and the Presidio Trust are pleased to announce the return of Presidio Twilight, launching on May 12, 2016. As Thursday night’s counterpart to Presidio Picnic, Presidio Twilight is back for the fourth year, offering visitors an opportunity to kick off the weekend with a large selection of street food, fire pits and cabanas, sunset yoga, and the chance to experience the beautiful Presidio with an evening under the stars.

“We are thrilled to welcome back Off the Grid,” said Michael Boland, Presidio Trust Acting Executive Director. “Twilight is a very special way to experience the Presidio.”

Presidio Twilight takes place on the Presidio’s lush Main Parade Ground, providing visitors with gorgeous views of the former military base and the San Francisco Bay. As always, cabanas and fire pits will be set up on the lawn and are available to patrons on a first-come, first-serve basis at no cost.

A rotating lineup of vendors will include The Boneyard, An the Go, Lobsta Truck, Cheese Gone Wild, Drums & Crumbs, Moonraker Mobile, Bombzies BBQ, Johnny Doughnuts, Tonli Dumpling, Anzu to You, Capelo’s Hill Country BBQ, Me So Hungry Too, Southern Comfort Kitchen, Mozzeria, Chairman Truck, Kokio Republic, Taco Guys, The Sweet Spot, and Korean Bobcha.

“Presidio Twilight is one of our signature events,” says Off the Grid founder Matt Cohen. “The combination of amazing food and the beauty of dusk in the Presidio are not to be missed.”

Avid shoppers looking to purchase Off the Grid-branded swag like t-shirts, hoodies, and children’s apparel can visit the Information Booth for the complete Mobile Marketplace selection. All Off the Grid-branded apparel is locally made, allowing patrons to support Bay Area artisans while stylishly outfitting themselves.

As at Presidio Picnic, Off the Grid has partnered with Lyft to offer Presidio Twilight attendees twenty percent off their rides to and from the Presidio when using the Presidio Twilight’s designated rideshare zone. For additional ways to access the Presidio, visit Getting to and Around the Park or visit Presidio Twilight’s Facebook page for directions from neighborhoods within San Francisco and from East/North/South Bay regions.

“By offering this special promotion with Lyft, we’re making it easier than ever to get to the Presidio. The discounted ride share as well as free sunset yoga, lantern-lit cabanas, shared fire pits and live music from local musicians all together create a unique experience and communal atmosphere,” says Off the Grid Director of Marketing Sinead Kennedy.

In addition to Presidio Twilight, patrons are invited to enjoy the many activities within the Presidio, including 24 miles of hiking trails, eight scenic overlooks, sculptures by Andy Goldsworthy, the Walt Disney Family Museum, the Officers’ Club and neighboring restaurants, including The Commissary and Arguello. About the Presidio and the Presidio Trust

The Presidio is a new kind of national park located at San Francisco’s Golden Gate. Once a legendary U.S. Army post, the park now offers world-class museums and restaurants, 24 miles of hiking trails and scenic overlooks with expansive views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco’s city skyline, the Pacific Ocean, and the San Francisco Bay. The park also provides free public programs and events, a public golf course, the world-class Inn at the Presidio and the Presidio Officers’ Club, San Francisco’s most historic building, which features engaging exhibits inspired by the events that shaped the City of San Francisco, and influenced the nation. A wide range of recreation, wellness, and dining options are also provided by the Presidio’s 200 tenants. The Presidio is managed by the Presidio Trust (Trust), a unique federal agency created in 1998 to save the Presidio and transform it into a national park. The Trust generates revenue for the park through rehabilitating and leasing historic buildings, and now operates the Presidio without taxpayer support. In 2015 The Presidio was recognized as a top destination by National Geographic Traveler’s magazine “Best of the World” list. To learn more please visit www.presidio.gov.
