Located inside the Presidio Officers' Club, Arguello is offered by the Presidio Trust and award-winning Bay Area chef Traci Des Jardins. It features Mexican cuisine and a contemporary bar with craft cocktails.

On a sunny day, Arguello is known as THE place to enjoy a margarita outdoors on its expansive patio. When the fog rolls in, move closer to the fire pit and grab a wool blanket to wrap around your knees. If you're lucky, you may even witness a chef making tortillas at the comal (griddle). Inside, a 34-foot mural inspired by a historic map of San Francisco Bay circa the 1880s enlivens the bar.

After your hike or bike ride in the Presidio, stop in for lunch and enjoy a taco. As the day progresses, relax with chips and guac from the bar menu before the energy picks up with evening diners. On Thursday and Friday nights, Arguello is a great destination before or after the free talks and live music in the adjacent Moraga Room – or you can simply pick up a cocktail and grab your seat at the event. Arguello is also a popular place for weekend brunch, a revered cultural tradition here in San Francisco.

Fun fact…the restaurant is named after Luis Antonio Arguello, who served as commander of the Presidio from 1806 until 1822 when he became the first Mexican Governor of Alta California.

Chef Des Jardins has been a force in the San Francisco food scene for more than two decades and has won numerous awards from national and local magazines and the James Beard Foundation.
