Visitors

Visitor Events and Programs

A photo of visitors to the Mesa Lounge.Each year, the Lab sponsors and participates in public events that commemorate the Presidio’s past. During California Archaeology Month each October, the program hosts a lecture series featuring renowned archaeologists and historians. The annual Pasados del Presidio celebration in June commemorates the Presidio’s colonial history.Park archaeologists lead school programs, host open excavations in the field, and invite visitors on walking tours. Events are listed in the Calendar.

Visit El Presidio

Visitors are welcome to visit the Mesa Room and adjacent Chapel site where portions of the adobe walls and the serpentine foundation stones of El Presidio have been excavated.
