Internships

A photo of three interns conducting research. The Presidio Archaeology Lab welcomes interns through a program administered by partners at the Alexandria Archive Institute. The program is open to students and recent graduates. Students choose a project that provides professional practice in the field of archaeology.

Through a cooperative agreement with the University of California at Berkeley, undergraduate students in the Anthropology Department work as interns for the Lab’s education program. Students pursue independent research projects and also help lead the Lab’s field trip and afterschool programs.

In past years, these young heritage management professionals have come from Scotland, the Philippines, Argentina, Bulgaria and Spain. These exchanges are mutually beneficial and help foster cross-cultural understanding in the field of archaeology as well as the conservation of our world heritage.
