The Overlook is orientated to showcase the two towers of the Bridge in alignment, and its design reflects adjacent military fortifications. Opened in May 2012 as the Golden Gate Bridge celebrated its 75th anniversary, the overlook reflects the majesty of its setting and offers visitors spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Marin Headlands.
The Golden Gate Overlook was made possible by a lead challenge match grant from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund and matching funds from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and the California State Coastal Conservancy.
Location: Off of Lincoln Boulevard, between Langdon Court and Merchant Road. Near PresidiGo Shuttle Stop # 170, Golden Gate Overlook. See map at right for directions.
