Inspiration Point Directions
Inspiration Point Overlook is located just inside the Arguello Gate to the east of Arguello Boulevard. View a Map of the Presidio From Arguello Gate (best entrance to Inspiration Point)- Enter the Presidio at the Arguello Gate
- Inspiration Point is on the right just past Presidio Golf Course Clubhouse
From the Bay Bridge (through the Arguello Gate)- After crossing the Bay Bridge, follow signs leading to 101 North/Golden Gate Bridge
- Follow the Golden Gate Bridge exit signs and take off-ramp to 101 North/Golden Gate Bridge
- Veer to the right onto Mission Street
- Get in the left lane, which will put you on South Van Ness Avenue
- Cross Market Street; South Van Ness becomes Van Ness Avenue
- Turn left on Pine Street
- Follow Pine Street and turn right on Presidio Boulevard
- Take an immediate left on California Street
- Turn right on Arguello Boulevard; follow Arguello Boulevard and enter the park at Arguello Gate
- Inspiration Point Overlook is on the right just past Presidio Golf Course Clubhouse
From the Golden Gate Bridge/North Bay- As you approach Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, get in the far right toll lane
- After paying toll, take the immediate first right (at the bus stop) onto Merchant Avenue/25th Avenue Exit
- Turn right on Lincoln Boulevard
- Turn left uphill on Kobbe Avenue
- At the stop sign, turn right on Washington Boulevard; follow Washington Boulevard for approximately 1.4 miles
- Washington Boulevard will intersect with Arguello Boulevard; at the stop sign, turn right on Arguello Boulevard
- Inspiration Point Overlook is on the left
From San Francisco Airport/South Bay (through the Arguello Gate)- Take Highway 380 West to Highway 280 North towards San Francisco
- Follow signs leading to Golden Gate Bridge, 19th Avenue and Park Presidio Drive
- Continue along 19th Avenue; enter Golden Gate Park (get in the right lane)
- As you exit Golden Gate Park, continue straight on Park Presidio Boulevard
- Turn right on California Street
- Turn left on Arguello Boulevard
- Follow Arguello Boulevard and enter the Presidio at the Arguello Gate
- Inspiration Point Overlook is on the right just past Presidio Golf Course Clubhouse
From Lombard Gate- Enter the Presidio at the Lombard Gate; at the second stop sign turn right onto Presidio Boulevard
- Presidio Boulevard becomes Lincoln Boulevard; continue westbound
- Turn left on Funston Avenue
- Turn right on Moraga Avenue
- Turn left at Arguello Boulevard and proceed up the hill; Inspiration Point is on the left
From Presidio Gate - Enter at the Presidio Gate and follow Presidio Boulevard down the hill
- At the second stop sign, proceed straight; Presidio Boulevard becomes Lincoln Boulevard
- Continue on Lincoln Boulevard westbound
- Turn left on Funston Avenue
- Turn right on Moraga Avenue
- Turn left at Arguello Boulevard and proceed up the hill; Inspiration Point is on the left
From the 25th Avenue Gate - Enter the Presidio at El Camino del Mar (25th Avenue Gate) which turns into Lincoln Boulevard inside the park
- Follow Lincoln Boulevard northbound
- Turn right uphill onto Kobbe Avenue
- At the stop sign, turn right on Washington Boulevard; follow Washington Boulevard for approximately 1.4 miles
- Washington Boulevard will intersect with Arguello Boulevard. At the stop sign, turn right on Arguello Boulevard
- Inspiration Point is on the left
