The Lombard, Gorgas, Arguello, and 25th Avenue Gates into the Presidio are the best access points for cyclists. These entrances have wide curb lanes or bike lanes connecting to most destinations. Visitors can also use the bike map from the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition to plan a trip. Bicyclists can ride to the park on the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle or MUNI with a bike using the convenient bicycle racks.

Sea Cliff, Outer Richmond, Outer Sunset, Parkside, Ingleside
By Bike: Lake and Cabrillo offer good east/west bike lanes, and Arguello Boulevard connects north/south. Take Arguello to the Main Post or over to Washington Boulevard to the Golden Gate Bridge.
By Bike/Muni: MUNI 43 goes to the Main Post. It connects Laurel Heights, NOPA, Haight, Laguna Honda, Miraloma, and Sunnyside directly to the Main Post where transfers to the PresidiGo Around the Park Shuttle are available every 30 minutes at Shuttle Stop 36. MUNI 29 connects, Sea Cliff, Outer Richmond, Outer Sunset, Parkside, and Ingleside to Baker Beach where transfers to the PresidiGo Around the Park Shuttle are available every 30 minutes at Shuttle Stop 23. MUNI 28 connects the interior parts of the same neighborhoods to the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza where you can transfer to the PresidiGo Around the Park Shuttle or ride down Lincoln Boulevard to the Main Post.

South Bernal - Go to Cortland and Take the MUNI 24, disembarking at Jackson and Steiner. Ride down Steiner to Greenwich. Go left on Greenwich to Lyon. Go right on Lyon and left on Lombard.
North Bernal – Bike to Mission and take MUNI 49 to Fort Mason. Ride along Marina Boulevard through Fort Mason to the Presidio.
Hunters Point
By Bike: Travel via Oakdale to Bayshore (go to right of Hwy101 onramp on sidewalk); Take a right on Cesar Chavez to crosswalk; cross Cesar Chavez and make a left on Cesar Chavez to the Bike Bridge; turn right on Hampshire; turn left on 26th Street; turn right on Harrison; turn left on 17th Street; turn right on Valencia; turn left on Market to Steiner to Waller to Pierce to Haight to Scott to Fell to Kennedy to Conservatory Drive to Arguello.
By Bike/Muni: Go to Third and Polou and take the MUNI 24, disembarking at Jackson and Steiner. Ride down Steiner to Greenwich. Go left on Greenwich to Lyon; turn right on Lyon; turn left on Lombard.
From Downtown
By Bike: Travel Market to Steiner to Waller to Pierce to Haight to Scott to Fell to Kennedy to Conservatory Drive to Arguello.
By Bike/BART/MUNI: Bike to Transbay Terminal or Embarcadero BART and take the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle (between 10 am and 3 pm). MUNI 41 goes to the Lombard Gate from BART also. Disembark at Lyon and ride into the Presidio using Lombard and Letterman to get to Lincoln in the Main Post or wait for the Presidio Downtown Shuttle at the cannons near the gate.
From the North Bay (Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza)
By Bike: Use the Mill Valley/Sausalito Bike Path through Sausalito to Bridgeway; take East Road to the Golden Gate Bridge. (View the Marin Bicycle Map)
By Bike/Golden Gate Transit/PresidiGo Shuttle: Take Golden Gate Transit 70, 71, or 80 to the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza. Get on the PresidiGo Around The Park Shuttle at the Golden Gate Bridge Transit transfer area near the snack bar on the east side of the bridge (weekdays it comes six minutes after the hour and 36 minutes after the hour between 6:36 am and 7:36 pm; weekends it comes seven minutes after the hour between 11:07 am and 6:07 pm and takes 10-20 minutes to get to the Officers’ Club Stop 35). Or, take Golden Gate Transit 40 or 42 to Richmond BART or El Cerrito Del Norte BART; then take the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle from the Embarcadero BART at Drumm and California. OR, take a ferry to the Ferry Building and walk to the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle stop at Drumm and California.
From the East Bay

By Bike/Transit/PresidiGo Shuttle: From Napa, Solano, Contra Costa, and Alameda Counties, take local bus service to BART to the Embarcadero station. Walk to the corner of Drumm and California and wait at the MUNI stop in front of the Marriot Hotel for the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle. During commute hours in the morning BART does not allow bicycles to ride to San Francisco. You can get from MacArthur BART to the Transbay Terminal using the $1 Caltrans Bike Shuttle. Once you get to the Transbay Terminal, go to the Fremont Street exit and wait on the north side at the crosswalk mid-block for the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle.
From the South Bay and Peninsula
By Bike: Take Sand Hill to Whisky Hill to Woodside Road to Canada to Skyline to San Andreas Valley Road along the Crystal Springs Reservoir* to Skyline to Great Highway to Cabrillo to Arguello.
*to avoid hills go left on Skyline after the Reservoir Trail ends to Sneath and turn right; go down Sneath to El Camino Real and turn right. El Camino becomes Mission Street (or follow Sneath to Hunnington and get on BART at San Bruno. Take BART to Embarcadero and ride the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle)
By Bike/CalTrain/PresidiGo Shuttle: Take CalTrain to the Millbrae station and transfer to BART using the overhead stairway. Board a Pittsburg Bay Point, Fremont, or Dublin Pleasanton train. Take BART to the Embarcadero station. Walk to the corner of Drumm and California and wait at the MUNI stop in front of the Marriot Hotel for the PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle. See schedule for times. Or take CalTrain to the 4th & King station and transfer to the CalTrain Shuttle and connect to the PresdiGo Downtown Shuttle at the Transbay Terminal.
