”Romantic, Fortissimo”
Regarded as perhaps his greatest work, the towering Sonata in B minor of romantic-era giant Franz Liszt has been described as a fight between opposite poles, with blistering torrents of notes juxtaposed against phrases of tender delicacy, full of poetry and color, creating a gallery of powerful mental images.
San Francisco Conservatory of Music pianist Lo-An Lin returns to our concert hall to present her interpretation of this commanding four-movement piece. Joining her are youth pianists Abraham Wilson, Luke Chui, and Jamie Cleron, performing works of Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Prokofiev, Schubert and Chopin.
The performances begin at 7:30 pm at the Golden Gate Club, 135 Fisher Loop on the Main Post. Seats can be reserved by calling (415) 447-6274. $5 suggested donation.
