Revised Proposals for Mid-Crissy Field Site Received Today by the Presidio Trust
Public encouraged to review new proposals and provide input
(Presidio of San Francisco – January 17, 2014) Three teams seeking to develop a cultural institution at a world class site located at Mid-Crissy Field submitted their revised proposals today. The public may view the proposals at: www.presidio.gov/commissary

“We appreciate the effort each team has made to further develop its proposal for the Mid-Crissy Field site, said Nancy Bechtle, Presidio Trust Board Chair. “In the weeks ahead we will evaluate the revised proposals, weigh the wide range of public comments, and make a decision that will stand the test of time. This is a remarkable opportunity for the Presidio and San Francisco and we look forward to the public’s continued engagement.”

The three finalists, the Bridge/Sustainability Institute (submitted by Chora and WRNS Studio); Lucas Cultural Arts Museum (submitted by George Lucas) and the Presidio Exchange (submitted by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy), submitted initial proposals on September 16, 2013. The Board asked each team to revise its proposal in response to three significant areas of concern:  achieving more clarity about program; ensuring that physical improvements (buildings and landscapes) are compatible with the site; and satisfying the objective for economic viability.  Today was the deadline to submit their revised proposals.

“We commend each team for its commitment and vision, said Craig Middleton, Presidio Trust Executive Director. “We understand the importance of the Mid-Crissy site, and its potential for welcoming diverse audiences through exceptional programming.  In the days ahead, we encourage the public to review the proposals on the Trust’s website: www.presidio.gov/commissary and tell us what you think. Please share your views in writing or at the public meeting of the Presidio Trust Board of Directors on January 27.”
