Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the Presidio Officers Club and nearby heritage programs campus buildings, along with other Trust occupied buildings assigned; oversees all aspects of janitorial, security, maintenance and appearance of assigned facilities; facilitates the coordination of tenants and uses in the buildings including common areas open to the public, a restaurant, special event venues, a museum exhibition gallery, archaeology lab classrooms, a workshop, a curation facility , a laboratory and offices; Plans, organizes, trains, supervises and reviews the work of contractors and staff responsible for providing janitorial and security services to assigned facilities; including implementing work scheduling, establishing work standards, conducting site evaluations, audits, evaluating whether contract agreements were satisfactorily met, approving invoices and troubleshooting/problem solving; ensures all managed services are being provided in a proper and cost effective manner; annually provides update for contract services; inspects building facilities to identify building maintenance needs; calls in work orders and follows-up; monitors common areas for cleanliness; cleans as needed; maintains an environment that is sanitary, attractive, and in orderly condition; performs minor maintenance repairs such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, etc.; monitors building systems and computerized controls; acts as a liaison with elevator, alarm, pest control, waste management, recycling, special event programming and set-up, building tour and other service providers and building tenants; assists Hospitality and Park Programs staff with special events; serves as the building’s ambassador to the public; works closely with the Presidio Trust Building Maintenance Work Order staff and crews on repairs, scheduling and notifications; participates in budget development process to ensure adequate operating funds are available for buildings and outside services. Full time position with benefits. Minimum salary $59,160 per annum.
Requires bachelor’s degree or 4 years’ experience in building maintenance management; demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, including articulate public communication and speaking skills; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management; experience coordinating custodial operations; experience working in hospitality, museum/exhibition gallery, historic resources, historical society and/or educational settings desirable; working knowledge of building systems, including air handling units, boilers, chillers, fire alarm and security; self-directed ability to work well under pressure and meet established goals, objectives and deadlines; ability to effectively schedule, train and motivate contract staff; knowledge and use of Material Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) documents; ability to recognize and coordinate emergency repairs and perform small repairs such as changing light bulbs and moving furniture and equipment; basic computer skills and ability to use email, MS Excel, Word, audio-visual equipment and building system controls. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license. Must be available for weekend and after-hours work.
