The Presidio Trust has undertaken an ambitious effort to transform Fort Scott, an expansive and scenic former military post overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, into the Presidio Institute dedicated to developing leaders capable of solving the great societal challenges of the next century. Programs of the Presidio Institute and its partners will include education, convening, research and recognition initiatives that will cross sectors and America’s traditions of service: civic engagement, civil and public service, military service, corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, national service, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, and volunteerism. To provide a home for these efforts the Presidio Trust is undertaking the renovation and modernization of a 100-year old mission style campus, including 21 former military buildings, which transformation will be supported by a significant capital campaign. The Presidio Trust has provided the Presidio Institute with its first increment of funding and staff and has garnered the support of key leaders across the county and from the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
The incumbent provides administrative support for the Presidio Institute’s program design, development and deployment; fundraising; communications; facilities development, and operations as needed. Supports the development of High Priority Goals and assists team members with the development and monitoring of annual operational and strategic goals. Anticipates the needs of the Presidio Institute Managing Director and staff and provides necessary support and guidance. Additional duties include compiling briefings, research, and preparatory materials; acting as liaison between the Presidio Institute’s office and other Trust offices; providing calendar management and phone coverage for Presidio Institute staff; coordinating meetings/conference rooms; preparing agendas, recording and transcribing minutes of meetings; assisting with budget preparation; processing purchase requests, and purchase orders through Oracle; arranging travel; preparing correspondence; timekeeping; and creating presentations using PowerPoint.
Requires 5 years of office management experience or Project Coordinator, or Associate’s degree, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and experience with PowerPoint; strong customer service orientation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience monitoring budget accounts; ability to be flexible and multi-task effectively; ability to take the initiative and work independently. Knowledge of or interest in leadership development, social purpose organizations, and/or hospitality industries is preferred.
