The proposed minor alterations to this existing warehouse are to accommodate storage needs of the Exploratorium, a Presidio education tenant occupying buildings 1187 and 1188 (in addition to the nearby Palace of Fine Arts outside the Presidio).  The Exploratium has recently signed a lease for approx. 1/2 of 1182.  Currently this storage function occurs in a portion of building 1063, which must be vacated for a Trust project.  Proposed alterations are to divide the building and improve the building's function for storage.
