Mountain Lake Remediation Project - Community Information Session
Please join the Presidio Trust and Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) for a Community Information Session on the Mountain Lake Remediation Project. This public meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming dredging and impacts on use of Mountain Lake Park, including work hours, trail and park closures, truck routes, and noise and odor levels.
What's Upcoming at Moutain Lake?
In September and October 2012, the Presidio Trust will begin site preparation work in advance of the Mountain Lake Remediation Project. This will require creating a staging area north of the lake, a pipeline route, and an access route to the lake. The work includes erecting fencing, removing 40 trees, clearing vegetation, temporarily closing the spur trail and overlook on the east shore of the lake, and removing ground structures and park benches within work areas. In November 2012, the Presidio Trust will begin dredging sediment contaminated with lead and motor oil from the bottom of the lake.
