Archaeology Walk at El Polín Spring
A photo of a woman depicting Juana Briones giving a tour to several people near an archaeological feature at El Polin.

Have you seen the new El Polín Spring? Want to know why this small valley tucked away in the Presidio is so special to so many?

Join Presidio Trust archaeologist Kari Jones for a walking tour to discover the legend of El Polín. Hear about what remains from San Francisco’s first suburb. Learn about where early Spanish colonial settlers built their homes, threw away their garbage, and collected water. Visitors will have the opportunity to view an archaeological feature and artifacts from excavations in the area.

The tour is at 11 am and will be offered the last Saturday of every month in spring 2012. Space for each tour is limited so please RSVP to archaeology@presidiotrust.gov and indicate your preferred date. Meeting location and details will be provided with your RSVP confirmation.

Future Walk Dates:
Saturday, April 28
Saturday, May 26
Saturday, June 30
