Join natural resources staff members Steve and Esperanza as they go birding through multiple habitat types!
The moderately-paced walk will cater to beginner and intermediate skill levels, but advanced birders are also welcome to join. We will try to spend enough time viewing each bird so each participant will gain confidence in field bird identification, focusing on features – appearance, sound, habits, habitat– that differentiate the birds we encounter. Please bring field guides if you have them, as well as a notebook, writing utensil and binoculars. Please indicate in your RSVP whether you would like to borrow a pair of binoculars.
The walk will include some light hiking, but will mostly take place on sidewalks. Heavy rain cancels. RSVP to nature@presidio.gov by April 5.
Age minimum is 10. The maximum group size is 20 people.
