Fogo Na Roupa Carnaval Parade Rehearsal

In preparation for San Francisco’s Annual Carnaval, May 25-26 in the Mission district, Fogo Na Roupa Grupo Carnavalesco will practice with their award-winning contingent on Sunday, May 12 and Sunday, May 19 in the Presidio.  

Come see the Grand Prize Winners of the 2023 Grand Parade and hear the blazing sounds of the “Bateria” – the drum ensemble consisting of traditional Brazilian parade drums – and enjoy the mesmerizing movements of the dancers who’ll showcase their new choreographies.  

Foga Na Roupa will start at the intersection of Sal Street and Keyes Avenue. Keyes Avenue, Canby Street, and Pena Street will be closed, and Mesa Street will experience intermittent closures throughout the day. See the map below for the route.  

The public is invited to come by and enjoy the free performances.
